A320 FIRE CONTROL PANEL
ENG FIRE pb
- PB default position is pushed in and guarded.
- When released, sends sends a signal to the respective engine to:
- Silences the aural fire warning
- Arms the fire extinguisher squibs
- Closes the –
- low-pressure fuel valve
- hydraulic fire shut off valve
- engine bleed valve
- pack flow control valve
- Cuts off the FADEC power supply
- Deactivates the IDG
- The red lights come on, regardless of the pushbutton position, whenever the fire warning for the corresponding engine is activated.
ENG AGENT pb
- SQUIB: Comes on white when the flight crew releases the ENG 1(2) FIRE pb. Pushing it will discharge the respective fire bottle.
- DISCH: Comes on amber when the corresponding fire extinguisher bottle was used and has lost pressure.
ENG FIRE TEST pb
Used to tests the operation of fire detection and extinguishing system for ENG 1(2).
When pressed:
- A continuous repetitive chime (CRC) sounds
- MASTER WARNING lights flash
- ENG FIRE warning appears on ECAM
- On FIRE panel:
- ENG 1(2) FIRE pb lights up red
- SQUIB lights come on white if discharge supplies are available
- DISCH lights come on amber
- On ENG MASTER panel (pedestal) – FIRE lights come on red
APU FIRE pb
- PB normal position is in, and guarded. When released:
- Shuts down the APU
- Silences the aural warning
- Arms the squib on the APU fire extinguisher
- Closes the low-pressure fuel valve
- Shuts off the APU fuel pump
- Closes the APU bleed valve and X bleed valve and deactivates the APU generator.
- The red lights come on, regardless of the pushbutton position, whenever an APU fire warning is activated.
APU AGENT pb
- SQUIB: Comes on white when the pilot releases the APU FIRE pb. Pushing it will discharge the respective fire bottle.
- DISCH: Comes on amber when the fire extinguisher bottle has lost pressure.
APU FIRE TEST pb
- Used to test the operation of the APU fire detection and extinguishing system. When pressed:
- A CRC sounds
- MASTER WARN light flash
- APU FIRE warning appears on ECAM
- On the FIRE panel:
- APU FIRE pb lights up red
- SQUIB light comes on white if discharge supplies are available
- DISCH light comes on amber
- The automatic shutdown of the APU on ground may occur if the flight crew performs this test for more than 3 seconds.
- If the fire test is performed on ground with only batteries to supply the electrical network, both of the following apply:
- SQUIB light and DISCH light come on, without ECAM warnings.
- Red APU FIRE pb light partially comes on, as one of the sets of bulbs is not electrically available.
